No, experience indicates that there is little to no difference, and the choice primarily comes down to personal preference. The Klamboe ‘Bamboo’ Mosquito Net does allow for better air circulation compared to the Cotton version. Additionally, Klamboe ‘Cotton’ Mosquito Nets tend to attract more dust, making them less suitable for individuals with asthma-related issues.

Please note: this observation specifically pertains to the micro-polyester fabric used by Klamboe Collection® and does not apply to all mosquito nets made from other synthetic materials.

  Which one do I choose?

All mosquito nets from Klamboe Collection®, regardless of the material, are highly effective in keeping mosquitoes at bay. The choice of material is primarily a matter of personal preference, as it depends on what you find most aesthetically pleasing above your bed. Both cotton and bamboo mosquito nets are made from natural materials.

However, there is a significant difference between cotton and bamboo. The use of bamboo fibers is undoubtedly more sustainable. Bamboo is abundant in nature and offers numerous environmental benefits. This grass species naturally regenerates after harvesting and grows at an exceptionally fast rate, resulting in a relatively large supply of bamboo in a limited area.

Bamboo does not require synthetic fertilizers for growth. It thrives in moist environments and does not need additional watering. Additionally, bamboo has a remarkably high capacity for carbon dioxide absorption. It captures carbon dioxide and produces a substantial amount of oxygen, thereby directly contributing to the well-being of both humans and the environment.

Our Klamboe Micro-Polyester Mosquito Nets, however, provide the advantage of exceptional durability, longevity, and ease of care, as they can be conveniently washed in a machine. This is not the case for most other synthetic mosquito net brands available online.

Round nets, also known as bell or conical nets, require only a single suspension point  directly above the center of the bed.

Standard Ceiling Installation (Recommended):

1. Determine the Point
   
   Locate the center point on the ceiling directly above the head of your bed.
2. Install the Hook
   
   Drill a small pilot hole, insert a wall plug (anchor) for stability, and screw in a sturdy ceiling hook (such as an eye hook or cup hook). Ensure the hook is rated to hold the net's weight.
3. Attach the Net
   
   Use a piece of cord or rope to connect the net's hanging loop to the ceiling hook. This allows for easy height adjustment and prevents the net material from being damaged by direct contact with the hook.
4. Secure the Base
   
   Once hung, ensure the bottom edge of the net is tucked securely under your mattress or sleeping mat to create a complete seal against insects.

Alternative No-Drill Solutions:

• Adhesive Hooks: For non-permanent solutions, use heavy-duty adhesive hooks (e.g., Command hooks) rated for the net's weight on smooth ceilings.
• Wall Bracket: A decorative, wall-mounted bracket or arm that extends over the bed can serve as a stylish and secure single hanging point.

Rectangular nets require four (or more) suspension points to create a spacious, box-like canopy.

Standard Ceiling Installation (Recommended):

1. Mark the Points
   
   Lie on the bed and look up to mark the four corners of the net's frame on the ceiling. These points should align with the corners of your bed or slightly outside them to maximize space.
2. Install the Hooks
   
   At each of the four marked points, drill a hole, insert a wall plug, and screw in a ceiling hook.
3. Attach the Net
   
   Use the circular rings on the net's top corners to attach strings or ropes. Secure these ropes to the corresponding ceiling hooks.
4. Adjust and Secure
   
   Adjust the tension and length of the ropes until the net hangs squarely, with the sides falling straight down. As with the round net, tuck the base securely under the mattress.

Advanced and Wall-Mounted Solutions:

• Wall-Mounted Solution: Instead of four ceiling hooks, you can use two wall-mounted brackets or rods at the head of the bed, and two ceiling hooks at the foot.
• Retractable Curtain Rail System: For a premium, integrated solution, the net can be adapted to hang from a specialized retractable curtain rail system mounted to the ceiling. This allows the net to be easily drawn open and closed like a curtain when not in use.

Yes, most of our mosquito nets are washable. We recommend the following care instructions to maintain the integrity and longevity of your net:

• Washing: Hand wash in cool water with a mild detergent. If using a machine, place the net in a large laundry bag and use a gentle, cold-water cycle.
• Drying: Do not tumble dry: Hang the net to air dry, preferably out of direct sunlight, as excessive heat can damage the fibers.
• Storage: When not in use, ensure the net is completely dry before folding and storing it in its provided stuff sack.

The cotton and bamboo mosquito nets should only be gently hand washed in cold water. After washing, please hang them back above the bed to dry. Do not use a washing machine or dryer. Ensure that the openings are aligned and the lower edges are smooth.

Alternatively, you may take the cotton and bamboo mosquito nets to a professional dry cleaner.

We offer nets suitable for use in malaria-prone regions. While our standard nets provide a highly effective physical barrier, they are not pre-impregnated with insecticide. This allows our customers to choose their preferred treatment method or use the net as a purely physical barrier. For travel to high-risk areas, we recommend purchasing a net specifically designed for impregnation or treating your Klamboe net with a suitable, approved insecticide treatment before use.
